Travel consultations here are booked by phone rather than online, so the clinic can set aside the time your itinerary actually needs — a single beach destination and a six-country overland trip are not the same appointment.

What a consultation covers

  • Pre-travel assessment built around your itinerary, health history and how you will be travelling
  • International vaccination certificates and Yellow Fever certification
  • Q fever vaccination for travellers heading into farm, abattoir or veterinary work overseas
  • On-site stock of rabies, typhoid, hepatitis A and B, and Japanese encephalitis
  • Malaria prophylaxis and vector-borne disease prevention
  • Customised travel health kits and medications
  • Post-travel review for fever, rash or gastrointestinal illness

Q fever and working travel

Q fever vaccine is not held by most travel clinics. It matters for anyone heading overseas into agricultural work, animal handling or veterinary placements, and it needs planning well ahead of departure because screening is required before the vaccine can be given.

After hours

Outside clinic hours, patients are seen at Rosny Doctors & After Hours, 27 Bligh Street, Rosny Park, on (03) 6244 1058 — Thursday and Friday 6pm to 9pm, and weekends and public holidays 1pm to 6pm. Outside those times call Hello Home Doctor on 134 100. In an emergency, call 000.
